I got this in an email and was stunned by the images. Viewer warning: The pictures near the end are a bit disgusting. I learned about foot-binding a while ago, but I had never actually pictured the damage it could cause.

That looks like it hurts and it is pretty gross. I love my tennis shoes and flip flops.
it's really weird how other countries are so die-hard for their cultures and traditions...maybe we could look beyond the pictures and learn something from these people...but please don't wear those shoes...
Just proves again, beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder.
